So this is Christmas

So this is Christmas

And what have you done
Another year over
And a new one just begun

And so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear ones
The old and the young

A very Merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
and frees West Papua

And so this is Christmas
For weak and for strong
For rich and the poor ones
The world is so wrong

And so happy Christmas
For black and for white
For yellow and red ones
Let's stop all the fight

A very Merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
and frees West Papua

West Papua is free, if you want it
West Papua is free
Now

Counterfeit Support for West Papua

Why has the Freedom for West Papua Movement in Australia gone on for 50 years without success?

The FWPP believe this is largely because for the past 50 years the Australian Government has absolutely refused to budge[i].

Australia's Two Headed Beast that Supports West Papuan Oppression

The oppression of West Papua has bipartisan support by the major parties within the Australia Government. For Australia to stop supporting the West Papuan Genocide the people of Australia must vote against the major parties.

Is the Catholic Church Stepping Up to Help West Papua?

With East Timor the Catholic Church was one of the key groups that pressured the Australian Government into freeing East Timor.

How Low will the Australian Government Go?

The above You Tube talks about allegations of ASIS bugging East Timor's parliament.

What is quite insightful is the attitude of the Australian Government.

Between the 7 and 9 minute mark of the video there are some comments by former Foreign Minister Alexander Downer that tend to indicate an attitude that the Australian Government will support Australian Businesses to the point of breaking the law and feel proud about doing it. Hmmm, sounds like what our government is doing to West Papua.

West Papua Independence Day

Our thoughts are with all West Papuans who are longing for their country's restored Independence.

We also apologise on behalf of Australia for its role in supporting the Indonesian illegal occupation and genocide in West Papua and will do what we can to change the heart of the Australian Government towards West Papua!

West Papua Merdeka!

Paul Madden, Leader of the Free West Papua Party

Independence vs Self-Determination

On the 1st of December we remember that West Papua once celebrated its independence on 1/Dec/1961.

At this time I ask you to consider why has West Papua's struggle gone on for so long? And in particular how has the Australian Government managed to get away with sustaining the West Papuan Genocide for so long?

The FWPP believe this is because there are counterfeit agenda’s pumped out by our government (there are also cases where Australian Universities are supporting the government’s counterfeit agenda). These counterfeit agendas are confusing West Papua’s supporters and slowing down or neutralising the freedom movement. One of these suspect agendas is ‘Self-Determination’.

The Free West Party is clear that it wants Independence (freedom) for West Papua. This is also clearly what the ULMWP is asking for. Self-Determination sounds okay and includes the right to choose Independence but there are some problems with seeking Self-Determination as follows:

  1. West Papua was once free and independent and celebrated its independence on 1/Dec/1961. Pushing for self-determination can be seen as a backward step.
  2. Pushing for self-determination can also be used to avoid facing the fact that Indonesia’s occupation of West Papua is illegal and therefore the Australian Government’s support of the occupation is illegal.
  3. Self-Determination also includes the right to choose 'Autonomy' and guess what... according to the Indonesian Government West Papua already has this. So the FWPP states that the push should be to restore West Papua’s Independence and advises supporters to be aware of groups that peddle "Self-Determination".
West Papua Merdeka!

BLUEPRINT FOR WEST PAPUA'S FREEDOM: Requesting The Greens to Act Regarding West Papua

Since the FWPP first wrote to The Greens party in early November the Greens have subsequently responded and the FWPP has responded again.

Wednesday 18 November 2015

Another example of the Australian Government being slow to act!

The FWPP is encouraged to hear about the All Party Parliamentary Group launched in the British Parliament for West Papua. The FWPP is keen to see to the group has the political will and power to recommend West Papua's independence at the UN. If they do then Vanuatu, Solomon Islands and Tonga should lend support.

In Response to the Paris Terrorist Attacks

The Free West Papua Party is saddened by the news of the Islamic Extremist attacks in Paris and our thoughts are with the victims at this time. We're somewhat speechless and not sure how to respond appropriately.

Vote 1 FWPP at the next Federal Election.

This is one example of how we can't trust the Australian Government with lives and we can't trust the Government with trade either. Kick them out!

Which Party Will Free West Papua

Up until now The Australian Greens has given us a mixture of sympathy and rhetoric regarding West Papua. But The Greens have not followed through with any action to Free West Papua! Therefore, the Free West Papua Party (FWPP) publicly requests The Greens to act.

UN Resolution 1514 States that it is every people group's right to seek independence

But when it comes to West Papua both the Australian and Indonesian Governments would rather make a buck out of Gold mining than Free West Papua.

The Government has Broken Our Trust

For Australia to move forward with integrity (including Freeing West Papua) we need a new brood of politicians.  The current brood has broken our trust and once we all realise this then we can take the opportunity to reform our government at the next Federal Election.

The below link shows how the Gambling Industry is paying off the Government. Australia has a gambling problem and 80% of people want reform but we can't trust our government to do it!

Former Indonesian President Awarded Honorary Doctorate

It is was with shock and disgust that I found out that former Indonesian president “His Excellency Dr Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono”(SBY) has been awarded an honorary doctorate at The University of Western Australia, in recognition of his contribution to global affairs and long-term advocacy in building strong relations between Australia and Indonesia.

PART 2: Petition: Lombok Treaty

We need to expect more integrity from our Politicians.

The Lombok Treaty petition, physically signed by 105 people was read out in the House of Representatives on Monday August 17, 2015:
http://parlinfo.aph.gov.au/…/display.w3p;db=CHAMBER;id=cham…

Let’s see what response our honourable politicians will give.

But history shows that for the past 50 years, our politicians fake shock and horror but do nothing.

UN Resolution 514 supports the right for people groups to have independence. However, the Australian Government effectively signs West Papua's rights over to Indonesia who are killing off the West Papuan independence movement.

Why do you think it is that the Australian Government is more interested in appeasing Indonesia than West Papua's right to independence?

Monday 12 October 2015

PART 1: Petition: Lombok Treaty

Two Australians were executed for drug running but the Indonesian Military is reportedly involved with drug running:
http://www.hrw.org/reports/2006/indonesia0606/5.htm

Also the Indonesian's own Intelligence Agency was involved in the murder of Munir Said Thalib on September 7, 2004 he was one of Indonesia's most famous human rights and anti-corruption activists.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Munir_Said_Thalib. His killers got lenient sentences.

We want the submission of the physical petition to the Australian Government to be a limus test on whether we the people of Australia can trust our Government:
http://imgur.com/a/CsxW6

If the Government refused to fully abolish the Lombok Treaty then that is clear evidence to the people of Australia that business and trade with Indonesia is more important than the lives of Australians, West Papuan's, and human rights activists. The FWPP will then motion that the people of Australia should use the next Federal Election as a vote of no confidence in all those that make up the current Australian Parliament.

FWPP Media Release: Forty years on, the Ghosts of the Balibo Five still haunt the Indonesian and Australian Governments - the big lies must now stop about West Papua

This year marks the 40th Anniversary of the Balibo Five and Roger East murders. In 1975 five journalists from Australia travelled to East Timor to find out the truth about rumours of Indonesia's pending invasion of East Timor. Both the Indonesian and Australian government stated they were caught in cross fire and died by accident. A NSW Coroner D Pinch in 2007 found they were murdered in cold blood, by the Indonesian military, a war crime of unlawful killing to cover up the incursion by the Indonesian military. The Australian government through the Defence Security Directorate and Defence Security Organisation knew of their murders and kept it secret from the Australian people for years. Roger East another reporter who went to investigate their disappearance was murdered on Dili Wharf 7th Dec 1975 by Indonesian soldiers. Their families have never received an official apology and those responsible have escaped justice. Indonesia blocked Australia's attempts to find the truth. In 1996 Alexandria Downer requested Indonesia co operate with the Sherman enquiry, Indonesia declined the request.

Response to The Australian Prime Minister, Mr. Turnbull’s First Speech

After listening to Mr. Turnbull’s first speech as Prime Minister I feel it appropriate to respond on behalf of all those that seek West Papua’s freedom.

The Australian Government Could Not Care Less

On 28 September 2015 around 7pm (Papua local time) in the Culverts Complex in Timika, West Papua, Indonesian Police shot 2 Senior High School Students. Kaleb Bagau (18 years old) died on the crime scene and Efrando I.S. Sabarofek (17 years old) was shot in his chest and leg, and he is in critical condition in the hospital. According to the local residents, the two were reported to the police as their fathers are members of the Free West Papua Movement (OPM). The police came with 3 police trucks, 15 motor vehicles, 3 Avanza capsul vehicles, surrounded the Complex, the boys were scared and as they ran, they bumped into the group of police and were shot.

Response to the Statement ‘West Papua solidarity movement rejects Reclaim Australia’

In July 2015 a public ‘Statement’ was signed and published by some 40 ‘Signatories’ titled ‘The West Papua solidarity movement rejects Reclaim Australia’. A key purpose of the ‘Statement’ was to discredit the Free West Papua Party (FWPP) and request its dissolution because the FWPP chose to speak at a Reclaim Australia rally.

The challenge with movements such as the freedom of West Papua is that they attract people who for one reason or other actually retard or even sabotage the movement. The movement tries to progress but with the retarding, and sabotaging, progress is slow.  Many of the ‘Signatories’ due to their territorial behaviour must take full responsibility for the underachievement that they have overseen over the past 30 years.

Here is a link to FWPP’s response which includes recommendations on how the whole movement can move forward.

It’s time for the FWPP to respond to the ‘Statement’ because the misinformation being propagated by the ‘Signatories’ is hurting the West Papua freedom movement within Australia.

ADVANCE AUSTRALIA FAIR

ADVANCE AUSTRALIA FAIR

Our Australian National Anthem captures our Australian values but it also serves as a measuring stick for how we can measure ourselves.

Please let me read parts of our national anthem to you

AUSTRALIANS ALL LET US REJOICE,

FOR WE ARE YOUNG AND FREE;

Our anthem sings about Freedom.

We may be free but our neighbour West Papua is not free!

The Blue Pill or the Red Pill

The Matrix has a scene where Morpheus offers Neo a blue pill and a red pill and asks Neo to choose which pill he would like to take.

The Free West Papua Campaign Perth Australia would like to offer you one of two pills. You can have the blue pill which represents blissful ignorance of the West Papua situation (like Cypher). Or you can have the red pill which represents knowing the painful truth of the West Papuan situation and Australia’s involvement (like Neo).

“Do you want to take the Blue Pill of “Blissful Ignorance” or do you want to take the Red Pill
and know the “Painful Truth?”

Are you ready to hear the painful truth?

Official Statement by Free West Papua Campaign Perth Australia

Dear Friends of West Papua,

I sincerely apologise for the grief, disappointment and concern I have recently caused to those who support the freedom of West Papua.  There have been concern and misunderstanding as to whom we have been formally associating with.

For your information neither the Free West Papua Campaign Perth Australia nor the Free West Papua Party has formally joined with any other group and both continue to remain fully under Benny Wenda’s leadership and guidance. I am sorry for the recent concerns supporters have had with whom we have been working with and any messages contrary to whom we have joined, I ask for your grace and forgiveness.

Over 150,000 W.Papuans sign a pro ULMWP petition amid crackdown

Over 157,427 West Papuans who in just a few weeks have all signed a petition supporting the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP) representing them in the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG).

This petition was signed by over 100%

more West Papuans than Indonesia’s

sham so called “Act of Free Choice” in

1969 which consisted over only 1,026

West Papuans being handpicked by the

Indonesian government and forced at

gunpoint to vote for Indonesian rule.

FWP 80 Members News!

Wow we are now at 80 members! Let’s keep on pushing towards our goal of 500 members so that we can register our party and ultimately free West Papua.

Here’s some information for everyone and tell it to your friends!

It is estimated[i] that the Australian government has so far taken at least $80 off each Australian tax payer and given it to Indonesia as military aid.

The Indonesian military then uses this aid to genocide West Papuans[ii]

This is how both the major parties in Australia support the ongoing West Papuan genocide.

For $1 you can become a member of the Free West Papua Party and help stop the bloodshed.

We Australians are better than the evil that our government is doing to West Papua!

Please Google West Papua Genocide

On June 9, 2015, 2 wonderful ladies from the Free West Papua Action Group hanged this banner over the walk bridge at South Perth from 7.15 am to 10.15 am and over the Perth bound lanes to raise awareness for West Papua. They got lots of toots as people could read from the road.  The banner reads:

Please Google West Papua Genocide

Free West Papua Candlelight Vigil

On 5 June 2015, a Candlelight Vigil was held at the Sydney Town Hall with 70 people gathered together. Alpius Meage, a West Papuan Activist from Free West Papua Campaign Perth Australia opened in prayer in his Dani/Lani language. Senator Lee Rhiannon lighted the candle and we observed a minute of silence for the 500,000 West Papuans who have died under the brutality of the Indonesian Government and Military. Alpius then gently sang his own Freedom song, a song crying out for the freedom of West Papua. He also shared about the struggle of his people for their independence and their right to self-determination.

Speakers and performers also include:

  • Senator Lee Rhiannon
     Here is his Speech.
  • Mal Fruean, the Chair of the NSW Council for Pacific Communities.
  • Josie Vendramini, a writer, activist and a passionate supporter of West Papua
  • Janina Ruta, a West Papua activist
  • Alison Bevege, journalist and long time supporter of West Papua
  • Nick Chesterfield, a human rights journalist
  • Pacific Island spoken word artist, Sea Rakaisau and supporters, Lu-yie, Robert and Olivia.

The crowd was inspired and moved. An extra special moment occurred at the closing when someone in the crowd got a phone call from West Papua just as Alpius Meage began to sing the Freedom Song of West Papua on his ukulele. We all joined in spontaneously and most people hearing the song for the first time picking up the words. The people in West Papua heard their song from downtown Sydney!

Thank you to everyone who came, the speakers, performers and to all the people who have supported this vigil.

Is the Heart of the US as Evil Today as it was in the Days of Martin Luther King Jr?

Well let’s have a look at what things were like back when Martin Luther King Jr (MLKJ) was around before he was killed by racist America.
Slavery in the UK was abolished in 1833 but the US had too much money tied up in slavery and it took until 1865 and a civil war that killed 600,000 people before the US was willing to abolish slavery. It then still took another 100 years of struggle until the times of MLKJ for African Americans to have the same rights as their white neighbours.

Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter. Martin Luther King Jnr.

Calling Every Melanesian!

Ask your Melanesian Parliamentarian to Support West Papua joining MSG

West Papua needs allies and the Melanesian Spearhead Group nations are Melanesian like West Papua so it is an obvious choice to seek friendship among family.

The fact that Indonesia is trying to sabotage West Papua's efforts through the United Liberation of West Papua is also a sign of how important Melanesian Spearhead Group membership is.

It is therefore imperative that all Melanesian Parliamentarians should rise up and support the application of the ULMWP to become a member of the MSG and Bring West Papua Back to the Family!
